PLEASE SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM FOR CONCLUSIONS AND PROPOSED AMENDMENT
Purpose
The purpose of the committee is to address certain language in the declaration that is potentially out of line with the current needs of the members (homeowners) of the association. The HOA is working to address concerns that many of the members raised while collecting votes to amend the original declaration. We made a committment to those homeowners that we would form a committe to discuss and craft new language based on input from the rest of the neighborhood.
This page is to address the focus and findings based on the opinions of the committee members and the input submitted to the association through the surveys on this page. We urge you as homeowners to please take a moment to opine on this matter. We made three different surveys available so that we can easily separate the issues. Additionally we focused the survey so that we can easily categorize the responses in order to quickly deliberate and craft new language. This language will then be voted on at the annual meeting.
Respectfully,
Chris R. Painter
President | SilverHawk HOA
Chair | Declaration Amendment Special Committee

Conclusions
The Declaration Amendment Special Committee has concluded the work it was created to accomplish. We have done an extensive investigation to determine what the needs are for the neighborhood moving forward regarding these three issues. Based on a survey of 50 respondents and looking at every home in the addition we have have unanimously agreed to put this language up for a vote.
This graphic is based on a door-to-door investigation and indicates what is actually going on in the neighborhood. It shows that a majority of homeowners keep their trashcan beside their home in accordance with city ordinances. However, many of them are kept in such a manner that detracts from the beauty of the neighborhood. Our current language requires them to be totally concealed from view. If we do not change the language then a majority of the neighborhood will be facing warning letters and fines after our annual meeting. In the survey results graphic further down this page you will see that of those that responded to the survey a majority opted to be allowed to be visible but on a level pad while just a few less than the majority said they wanted them totally concealed from view. Based on what we see actually going on and the responses from the survey, the committee felt that it was prudent to come to a compromise.
